1 scanning preparation

Instructions from the manual
Prepare the scanner and black document pad7 steps
  1. Place the scanner on a table, desk or counter large enough for the pages to be scanned or displayed.
  2. Plug either the hand button or foot pedal into the USB accessory port at the back of the base.
  3. Spread the black document pad under the scanner head and align its notch with the device.
  4. Check the head LCD: the black pad must cover the whole screen with no desk surface or stray edges in the scan.
  5. Correct full-pad coverage is essential to image-processing calculations.
  6. For books or multiple documents, use Computer Mode (USB-PC) and the foot pedal for efficient scanning; computer editing provides additional image adjustments.
  7. Avoid nearby windows and strong ambient light: excessive brightness interferes with the laser lines and scan results.
Shared ET-series document-pad alignment: align the pad notch with the base and check that the LCD preview is entirely covered by the black pad. The guide illustrates the common base alignment.
