Errors and messages

Remove the drum and toner assembly, reseat the toner cartridge in the drum, and reinstall the assembly. Contact Brother if the error remains.
Cooling Downprinter cooling down
Wait for the printer to cool and keep its vents clear. If the fan is not running, disconnect power for several minutes and reconnect it.

Troubleshooting

Check that the printer is powered on and online, that the Brother driver is selected, and that no error appears on its display.
Printer stopped during a print jobView
Cancel the stalled job, clear it from printer memory, and send the document again.
Automatic two-sided printing does not workView
Check the driver's paper-size setting and use supported paper for automatic two-sided printing.
Printer does not feed paperView
Straighten or reload the paper, reduce an overfilled stack, and clean the pickup rollers if feeding still fails.
Manual feed slot does not feed paperView
Feed one sheet firmly until the rollers catch it, and select Manual as the driver paper source.
Paper jam in the paper trayView
Remove the tray and jammed sheet, fan the paper stack, align the guides, and keep the stack below the fill mark.
