Adapter cable damaged in transportView
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
Bundle the cable with a tie or similar aid during transport without placing strain on it. Winding it around the adapter or bending it can break internal wires and prevent charging.USB connector damaged in transportView
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
Unplug the USB cable before carrying the printer, including in a bag. Impact on a connected plug places excessive load on the connector.Printer or supplies damaged in a hot vehicle4 steps
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
- Do not leave the printer or supplies inside a vehicle: heat can deform the printer and blacken paper.
- The optional car adapter is for charging only; heat also accelerates battery degradation.
- Use at 0–40°C and 20–80% humidity, maximum wet-bulb 27°C.
- Avoid extreme temperature/humidity, dust and vibration; closed hot vehicles, wet bathrooms/water-heater areas, rain/fog, heat/flames/direct sun and condensation.
When to select low printing speedView
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
Select Low when a speed equivalent to the MW-145series is desired. Change speed in the driver utility; Standard is the default.Stamping or writing affects thermal printView
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
Stamping on the thermal surface is not recommended. Check actual suitability before use: ink may dry slowly, smear or erase; adhesive tape and pens can also erase characters.Paper remains but no longer feedsView
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
Dirt on the feed roller may prevent paper pickup. Remove it with cellophane tape using the reviewed cleaning procedure.Preserve battery life during storage6 steps
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
- Avoid frequent charging where possible; use up the charge before recharging as described by the manual.
- Two repeated charging-LED flashes indicate below 30% charge.
- Avoid high-temperature locations and direct sun.
- For long storage remove the battery and store indoors at preferably 15–25°C and 40–60% humidity without static electricity.
- Recharge every three months.
- Do not unplug and reconnect the battery frequently; remove it only for end-of-life replacement or long storage.
Adapter connector damaged in transport3 steps
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
- Unplug the adapter jack before carrying the printer.
- Carrying it connected repeatedly loads the connector and can detach solder joints, causing poor continuity.
- Handle plug insertion and removal carefully.
Non-genuine paper causes feed problems2 steps
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
- Use Brother genuine paper.
- Other paper may cause repeated feed problems not resolved by cleaning, and damage caused by it may require paid repair even during warranty; this does not mean every other paper will fail.
Paper-cassette handling and identification3 steps
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
- The printer identifies paper type from the cassette and selects corresponding settings.
- Do not transfer sheets between cassettes.
- Do not return used or removed sheets to a cassette; double feeds, missed feeds or head failure may result.
Printer brought into a cold environment3 steps
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
- Below 0°C the printer may not operate, and at 10°C or lower fewer sheets can be printed.
- Print where ambient temperature is at least 0°C.
- To avoid condensation after cold exposure, change temperature gradually toward the outside temperature.
Store thermal paper and prints11 steps
From the manual’s separate FAQ section: よくあるご質問.
- Before printing, keep paper packaged against light and gas at 25°C and at most 65%RH; use within one year of purchase.
- After printing, store in a dark cool place at 25°C or below, including filed storage.
- Keep both sides away from back-carbon/carbonless/diazo paper; plasticized soft PVC, rubber mats and erasers; adhesive tapes, correction fluid and oil-based markers; organic compounds with alcohol, ketone, ester or ether groups; leather, hand cream, hair products and cosmetics.
- Do not immerse in rainwater, water or sweat; do not touch with wet or sweaty hands.
- Do not glue the thermal side.
- For the back, use water-based starch, polyvinyl-alcohol or CMC-type glue.
- Stamping either side can discolour blank areas or fade the record through chemical reaction.
- Avoid scratching and friction heat.
- Keep a separate copy of important documents.
- These storage/performance figures are information, not a guarantee of service life.
- Actual paper storage, surface oil/dust and printing environment affect performance; verify suitability in the actual environment.
