Instructions from the manual
Remote answering playback and forwarding13 steps
  1. Use a touch-tone telephone.
  2. Register a 4-digit PIN with Function, #006, Set; enter the PIN, Set, Stop; avoid 0000 or parts of your telephone number and change it periodically.
  3. Before leaving enable answering mode.

  5. Press 4 or wait approximately 4 seconds for new messages; press 5 for all.
  6. Hang up when finished.

  8. During playback: 1 previous/repeat, 2 pause/resume, 3 next, 7 back 10 seconds, 8 forward 30 seconds, 9 stop, star+4 then 4 deletes current, star+5 then 5 deletes all base messages.
  9. Fax-only mode blocks remote listening.
  10. Forwarding requires PIN, destination #142 up to 24 digits and answering mode: on receipt of a new message it calls that number; after no answer for approximately 50 seconds, retries at approximately 1-minute intervals 3 times, then approximately 30-minute intervals 3 times.
  11. Answer, follow the message and enter the PIN.
  12. Automatic answering at the destination or PBX/home-telephone/terminal adapters may prevent forwarding; disabling destination auto-answer is recommended.
  13. Each forward call incurs charges.
Toll saver and remote answering activation4 steps
  1. With answering ring count トールセーバー, a new message is answered within 3 rings and no new message after at least 4; hang up before answering to avoid call charging.
  2. Some modem dial-in connections can prevent this.
  3. To enable answering remotely, call home, wait for the ringing to become quieter, enter the PIN, press 8, wait for the completion message and hang up.
  4. This cannot be done when 在宅呼出回数 is 自動応答しない.

Sdカードを使う

Instructions from the manual
SD media, insertion and safe removal9 steps
  1. Supported cards: SD 8 MB–2 GB with FAT12/FAT16, SDHC 4–32 GB with FAT32, SDXC 48–64 GB with exFAT; mini/micro cards require the proper adapter.
  2. Multimedia cards are unsupported.
  3. Not every card is guaranteed.
  4. Insert straight with label up and clipped corner inward.
  5. If converting an older-device card format, conversion removes that older compatibility; cancel and remove if it is needed.
  6. Write protection prevents recording, fax/phonebook saving, deletion, formatting and data cleanup.
  7. Never unplug power or remove a card while its indicator blinks.
  8. To remove, ensure it is not blinking, press the card inward and pull straight out.
  9. Back up important data first; device formatting deletes data irreversibly.
SD menu, scanning, format and cleanup7 steps
  1. Function, SDカードメニュー, Set provides residual capacity, document saving, data cleanup, formatting and clearing fax new marks.
  2. Residual display shows voice files/time, fax files/pages and phonebook files.
  3. To scan: select 原稿をSDへ保存する, Set; load originals face up, Set to scan; star when scanning finishes.
  4. It uses grayscale and temporary base memory, so full base memory can prevent it.
  5. Use data cleanup after file changes prevent recognition; confirm the prompt.
  6. Formatting erases all card data: back up first, select SDカードをフォーマットする, Set, star.
  7. Clearing fax new marks removes all existing new marks, not marks on future faxes; PC viewing does not clear them automatically.

本機で保存したデータをパソ コン・テレビ(ビエラ)で使う

Instructions from the manual
Use saved SD data on a computer or Viera8 steps
  1. Voice is WAVE, saved in 20-minute chunks with text metadata; fax/document data are JPEG or TIFF.
  2. Do not rename or remove device folders/files because device or Viera playback can fail.
  3. SDXC requires a compatible reader/television.
  4. The manual describes historical Windows 7/8/10 and Viera use; it does not establish compatibility with current operating systems.
  5. For PC-created fax data, first create the required device SD format, then use the manufacturer conversion utility to produce the specified TIFF.
  6. In SDカードメニュー choose パソコンデータを送信する, select file, Fax, dial and Fax.
  7. Printing uses パソコンデータを印刷する, select file, load paper, Copy, then erase or retain at the prompt.
  8. Delete individual/all PC-data files through their menu; read-only file attributes do not protect against device deletion.

ナンバー・ディスプレイ サービス

Instructions from the manual
Caller ID service and blocking9 steps
  1. Caller ID needs the relevant provider contract and completed installation; the base defaults to 自動.
  2. For call-waiting Caller ID, set キャッチホン・ディスプレイ あり only with that contract.
  3. PBX/home-telephone or parallel connections may prevent display; ISDN requires matching terminal-adapter settings.
  4. History holds 30 shared entries.
  5. Non-notified, payphone, out-of-area and unregistered callers can be blocked through their named settings; nuisance numbers hold up to 300 entries.
  6. 0120/0800 and unregistered blocking exempt phonebook and specified Panasonic numbers.
  7. These features cannot operate in certain intercom/doorphone/call-waiting conditions.
  8. Blocked-call logging defaults off; use 拒否した着信を履歴保存 to retain it.
  9. No number from a poor line is inferred.

モデムダイヤルインサービス

Instructions from the manual
Modem dial-in applicability6 steps
  1. The model supports modem dial-in and added-number service, not PB-signal dial-in.
  2. Contract and installation must be complete before enabling モデムダイヤルイン.
  3. It assigns base/handset ringing and fax-only destinations, but does not permit simultaneous separate conversations.
  4. PBX or parallel connections are unsupported; rings can be delayed 4–10 seconds and toll saver may fail.
  5. A handset-only destination does not acquire base nuisance-prevention behavior.
  6. Store distinct assigned numbers; duplicate numbers cause U72.

「選んでケータイ」を使う

Instructions from the manual
Chosen mobile carrier and IP bypass6 steps
  1. The manual describes the 2018 選んでケータイ carrier-prefix service.
  2. Enable and store the carrier identification code only for a supported fixed-line service; disable it on hikari telephone service.
  3. For an IP line register its service bypass prefix correctly.
  4. Applicable mobile prefixes are the stated 0901–0909, 0801–0809 and 0701–0709 ranges, not every number beginning 080.
  5. Dial 1111 before a number to bypass the feature temporarily.
  6. Ask the actual contracted carrier about present-day service and rates; the manual is not current pricing evidence.

  3. For your number: Function, #004, Set; up to 20 digits, Set, Stop; Block inserts a space, star inserts a plus sign, and Delete corrects an error.

  7. Remove using #084, Set, 1, select sensor, Set, star, Stop; remove that unused sensor battery to prevent malfunction.
Sensor warning levels, state and history10 steps
  1. High or answering-high window alerts show the opened window, flash keys/handset LED and sound the base/handset at maximum for approximately 3 minutes; the sensor sounds approximately 30 seconds.
  2. Door high mode permits the configured approximately 3-minute exit delay, then entry causes approximately 20-second-interval prewarning for approximately 3 minutes before full alarm; use Stop or handset Stop/Off and lower to low, or cancel answering-high when returning.
  3. Low alerts show state for approximately 10 seconds and base/handset sound approximately 3 seconds.

  7. Avoid destination automatic answering; toll-free destinations cannot be used, PBX/home-telephone/terminal adapters may fail, and each notification call incurs charges.
